Jack Sparrow becomes a wanted man, fleeing vengeance from the dead.
The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has been away for a long time: Six years passed since the release of its most recent movie in 2011. But Jack Sparrow is back for 2017. In the run-up to the new film’s release, now a third trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge has been released.
Fans of Captain Jack Sparrow already got a foretaste of what they can expect from his forthcoming adventure Salazar’s Revenge, with two trailers being previously released, one in last year’s October and one during the Super Bowl. Now the third trailer brings a fresh look at the story.
The new trailer appeared on Saturday night on the Pirates of the Caribbean Facebook page with the caption “This Memorial Day find Jack Sparrow. #PiratesLife”. It features Javier Bardem, starring as the ghost pirate Captain Salazar, claiming that he was cursed by Jack Sparrow and seeking for revenge.
Disney’s previously released synopsis revealed that Captain Salazar is determined to kill every pirate at sea – including Jack.
“Pirates have infected the sea for generations, so I vowed to eliminate them all,” the ghost captain swears in the trailer. It also spotlights a battle between the two main characters, Salazar and Sparrow. Watch the new trailer below:

Apart from a new nemesis, the movie also brings back an old companion of Sparrow: Orlando Bloom is reprising his role as Will Turner, who made his last appearance in 2007’s At World’s End.
The new Pirates of the Caribbean movie will be the fifth in the long-running franchise, which has been on since its first film The Curse of the Black Pearl premiered in 2003.
Meanwhile, Paul McCartney reportedly makes a cameo in the movie. With that, the Beatles singer continues a rock star trend which was started by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, appearing in 2011’s On Stranger Tides.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge, which is directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, will hit the cinemas on May 26, 2017.
