Slane Castle and Boyne Valley Events have launched the Boyne Valley Viking Experience for the weekend of May 21st and 22nd, 2022. Prepare for your imagination to be captured!
The largest historic re-enactment festival in Ireland is slated to be hosted on the beautiful grounds of Slane Castle this summer, for those who wish to delve into another era.
Dublin's own ties to Vikings are well-documented, so it's understandable that demand for the incredible festival is high.
Boyne Valley Viking Experience was curated in a partnership by Slane Castle and Boyne Valley Events, with a special concert taking place on Saturday, May 21st.
Headlined by Corvus Corax, the band brings the spirit of old ages back to life with powerful drum and bagpipe sounds. Playing festivals in Texas, Brazil and all over Europe this year, the German outfit are excited to come for the first time ever to Ireland.
Speaking from Berlin, a spokesperson for the band said “we have always wanted to come to Ireland and are delighted to be appearing at the world-famous Slane Castle during the Boyne Valley Viking Festival. We plan to make it a night to remember for our many fans in Ireland and further afield”.

Supported by Viking bands Seidrblot from the UK and local band Ravensdale, this concert will a Viking spectacle par excellence. Of course, that's not all the Boyne Valley Viking Experience has to offer.
Viking reenactors, all in traditional costumes, crafts people and traders with authentic handmade goods from all over Ireland and Europe will camp at Slane Castle in an authentic tented village and will tell the Viking story of the Boyne Valley. Full size replica longships will be on display and Vikings of all ages await to entertain the visitors.
Over than 100 heavily armed, full contact warriors are ready and excited to take to the battlefield. Many of these warriors compete at international venues and are among the best in the world. Dozens of highly skilled and lightly armed warriors will join with them to entertain the public on both Saturday and Sunday. Fighters in both categories will fiercely compete to become Irish Champion.
