Irish actress Amy Shiels talks starring in the Twin Peaks reboot and life in L.A.
The Irish actress, who had a recurring role in Love/Hate back in 2012, has been working with acclaimed director David Lynch for the new season of the cult classic Twin Peaks, which will air next year.
"Every single day working on Twin Peaks was a personal highlight for me," says Shiels. "It was months and months of triumphs getting to be on that set."
The new series of Twin Peaks, set to air 26 years after it was cancelled, includes many of the original cast members, with Kyle McLachlan returning to his role as the charismatic Special Agent Dale Cooper.
In keeping with the enigmatic nature of the show, Amy is careful not to reveal many more details about her role. However, she notes the thrill of getting to work with many of Hollywood's A-listers, including Naomi Watts, Ashley Judd and Amanda Seyfried.
"I’ve loved that show since I was young and I’ve watched it over and over again, so to be able to part of it meant I came into work star-struck every day. I've been bless to work with so many of these highly talented artists."
Arrested Development star Michael Cera is also set to appear, along with The X Files' David Duchovny, who will reprise his role as transexual character Denise Bryson.
Amy Shiels has been sharing her time between living out in Los Angeles - where she had voiceover roles on the video games Final Fantasy and Call of Duty - and working closer to home - where she had a starring role alongside James Nesbitt and Genevieve O'Reilly on UTV's The Secret.
