"Since its inception, the play has built up a phenomenal fan base across the nation and I can't wait to bring it to new cities so that more audiences can experience this witty, eye-opening, and captivating story," said writer Brian Foster.
Irish playwright Brian Foster's latest show, Myra's Story, will perform four runs across the country as part of its UK and Ireland tour.
The play, which enjoyed four hit seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe and a run in London's West End, will come to Irish theatres on the following dates;
- March 7 to 8 - The Market Place, Armagh
- March 28 to 30 - Millenium Forum, Derry
- April 1 to 5 - Grand Opera House, Belfast
- May 5 to 10 - Gaiety Theatre, Dublin
Myra's Story recounts the life of the titular character, played by Fíonna Hewitt-Twamley, and the events which led up to her becoming homeless on the streets of Dublin. A one-woman show full of emotion and Irish wit, the story is told through Myra as she begs from passers-by on Dublin's iconic Ha'penny Bridge.

"Street alcoholics are those who have stumbled over that line and (generally) can find no way back," said Foster. "When I was researching the play a doctor pointed out to me that heavy street drinkers are terminally ill people. Their affliction will kill them in the end, yet we tend not to view them with the same compassion we would cancer sufferers, for instance."
Tickets are available now, direct from the venues.
