Recorded at JAM Studios in Co. Meath, One Flew Over's newest single 'Liar Liar' showcases the Irish pairing's edgy soul sound.
Irish duo One Flew Over debuted their edgy single earlier this month. ‘Liar Liar’ is a dark Americana revenge track marinated in ‘60s-reminiscent noir.
Irene Ni Chuinn and Martin Quinn prove to be a dynamic couplet, with lyricist Chuinn on lead vocals and Quinn drawing out classic rhythm and blues through heavy musical arrangements and production.
But the frontwoman makes it clear – she’s hardly a party wronged. “I’ll be on the sidelines as you come undone,” Chuinn warns over weighty rhythmic guitar.
One Flew Over pays tribute to a range of sound influences from the likes of Nina Simone and The Beatles.

Recorded and mixed at JAM Studios in Co. Meath, where the duo first formed in 2019, ‘Liar Liar’ falls under the alluring complexity of Blue-Eyed Soul. The introduction of a Hammond B3 Organ in the chorus, played by James Quinn, elevates the track’s thrilling string arrangements and adds a cinematic quality to the post-heartbreak soundtrack.
One Flew Over puts into sound the feeling of anguish and despair mixed with the ultimate desire for triumph over pain. The track is a culmination of vintage blues and classic rock with a modern edge, cementing the forceful duo as an act to watch.
