The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) located right in the heart of Dublin 8, sprawls across a wonderfully curated 30 acres of land and is housed in the stunning, historic buildings of the historic Royal Hospital Kilmainham. A constantly changing programme of exhibitions brings together the work of leading Irish and international artists with IMMA’s own Collection of Art. There’s also a rich programme of family workshops, talks, tours and adult workshops for audiences of all ages. Entrance to the museum and grounds are free, with a small charge for special exhibitions such as the wonderfully impressive IMMA Collection: Freud Project which is currently running and features the work of world famous artist, Lucian Freud. On 12 and 13 May, IMMA takes part in the ‘Culture Date with Dublin 8’- a neighbourhood initiative offering free events and activities in The Liberties.
