The show is being produced by FX
Dunkirk and Love Hate star Barry Keoghan will star in the pilot for an adaptation of comic book series Y: The Last Man, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The post-apocalyptic story focuses on the only man (Keoghan) who survives the apparent simultaneous death of all other male mammals on Earth except the man's pet monkey.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Diane Lane (Man of Steel) and Imogen Poots (Green Room) will also star in the FX series.
Keoghan took to Twitter to say he is 'proud' to bring Y: The Last Man to the screen.
#YTheLastMan proud to bring this to the screen. Classic! for @FXNetworks

One hopes production on the series will go better than FX other upcoming comic book adaptation Snowpiercer. Recently, Doctor Strange's director Scott Derrickson - who shot the pilot for the new show - disowned the series.
The 72-page Snowpiercer TV pilot script by @Josh_Friedman is the best I’ve ever read. The feature-length pilot I made from that script may be my best work.
The new show runner has a radically different vision for the show. I am forgoing my option to direct the extreme reshoots.— Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) June 29, 2018
Meanwhile, Keoghan's star is truly in ascendance. Today, his critically acclaimed heist film American Animals is premiering at the Galway Film Fleadh, while the actor's upcoming famine Western Black 47 will close the festival July 15.
