Maika Monroe joins Neil Jordan's The Widow
It's the Irish director's first film in over five years.
Neil Jordan may be distancing himself from Riveria, the TV series he directed about wealthy socialites in the south of France, but it seems he's already trying to get back on track with his next film The Widow.
Now it's been announced that the talented up and coming actress Maika Monroe, the darling scream queen of It Follows, will be joining the film's cast. This is after stars like Isabelle Hubbert and Chloe Gratz Moretz had already been confirmed to appear.
Motetz plays Frances, a young woman who finds a purse and returns it to its owner, an old widow whom she then forms an unlikely Friendship with. Hubbert plays the aging widow who at first seems genial and warm but then ends up being not all what she at first seemed.
Monroe will be playing Francis best friend Erica, a troubled young girl with an overprotective and wealthy father. Shooting for the film should be starting soon.
