Another star sadly burns out this month.
American actress and singer Florence Henderson passed away on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 82. She was admitted into the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles the day before her death, which representatives say was due to heart failure.
The world best knew Florence for her role as Carol Brady on the classic 70s sitcom The Brady Bunch, where she spent five years of her life mothering her three girls and three adopted boys. The show ran from 1969 to 1974, but most of the cast later starred in spin-offs of the original series. Florence appeared in the movie A Very Brady Christmas in 1988, and then finally in 1995,The Brady Bunch Movie for her final role as Carol.
You may also recognize Florence from her guest appearances on shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Samantha Who and 30 Rock. Besides film and television, she had an impressive career on stage before landing big screen roles. She starred as Maria in The Sound of Music during the 1960s, Ann in The King and I (1965), and as Nellie Forbush in the musical South Pacific (1967).
Among the Indiana-born's list of accomplishments, she was awarded the Gracie Awards for Outstanding Host in the Entertainment/Information in 2008 and 2012 for her TV segment The Florence Henderson Show.
Her TV show daughter, Maureen McCormick, tweets:
