South Africa-born, Dublin-based hip-hop artist Jehnova has teamed up with producer sivv once more for a stunning new collaboration.
Dublin-based rapper Jehnova has unveiled the black-and-white visuals for new track 'Cape Of Good Hope', produced by sivv and directed by Brian McGuinness.
The low-key, locally shot footage was filmed by David Christopher Lynch and features NUXSENSE, the rap collective featuring both Jehnova and his cousin, producer sivv. The pair were both born in South Africa, as it happens.
With a twinkling blues piano melody and a down-tempo groove, the hip-hop artist traces his attempt to retain motivation for music and the oppression he's witnessed in his life.
"I chuck the roaches on the shed/Hiding my addiction/Been out here chasing music and this been my decision," he raps. "I'm stressin', but they listen." He meanders around Dublin roads and streets, later merging with his friends in the immersive visuals.

For the last five years or so, Jehnova has been releasing a string of solo singles outside of NUXSENSE, including 'Striped Pyjamas', 2019's 'Eudaemon' and 'Weak Days'.
The seven-track Avenoir released in April 2021 on andfriends records, a joint project with producer lod. Avenoir evokes classic East Coast hip-hop (boom-bap drum loops and prominent samples) with a darker edge that alludes to a newer form of warped New York rap. The likes of MIKE, Caleb Giles, Slauson Malone and others have paved the way.
Jehnova's latest single 'Golden Sceptre' is a smooth, captivating gem that shows off his lyrical wordplay and laidback flow.
"My album, St Ivy, with my brother sivv is currently at the mastering stage," the Dublin rapper recently told Hot Press for On Our Radar. "Every NUXSENSE member will be releasing individual albums with sivv, following on from Time On Earth by Luthorist from late 2021. Myself and Lod are working on collaborations too. I plan on releasing quality material to connect with the folks who have supported me through all these years of learning."
