The LiveStock Music and Arts Festival will return to Galway this summer with another weekend of music, crafts and family-friendly activities. After a successful inaugural event last year, the 2023 LiveStock Music Festival will take place around the ringfort at Liskelly Farm, by the village of Aughrim in Galway, from Saturday, July 1st to Sunday, July 2nd.
This year’s line-up includes Jiggy, Overhead, The Albatross, Aindrias De Staic & The Latchikos, Bog Bodies, Staff Party, Paddy Dennehy, Bunoscionn, Primitive Machine and Slí na Croí. Along with an extensive line-up, the festival will also feature traditional craft demonstrations, seminars and workshops, as well as food and art suited for all ages.

The LiveStock Music Festival is the brainchild of Cormac Jennings and Sharon Sweeney, who held the first festival during the summer of 2019 to commemorate their wedding. As Jennings’ childhood playground, the scenic and ancient ringfort became a special place for him and the couple decided to turn the space into a venue for a new annual community festival.
Due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, plans for the festival were shelved in 2020 and 2021. But after a long wait, the inaugural festival was launched last year by the original family team to resounding success.

“LiveStock’s aim is to create a truly authentic and immersive family friendly weekend that celebrates the very best of independent music, food, workshops, entertainment and more,” the festival’s website states. “Centred around an ancient faerie fort and surrounded by 30 acres of young oak woodland. More than just a music festival, LiveStock Music and Arts Festival has been created as a celebration for the soul.”
