The Hollywood actor was cleared of involvement in Cathriona White's death, after a revelation that his ex-girlfriend had faked STD tests led to the case being thrown out.
Tipperary-born make-up artist White was 30 when she passed away at her LA home on September 28, 2015, just days after she had split from Carrey.
Now, it has been revealed that Carrey is no longer facing a wrongful death trial over his ex's suicide – after his lawyer proved she tried to blackmail him with faked STD results.
Carrey, 56, faced a wrongful death suit from Cathriona’s mother Brigid Sweetman and her ex-husband Mark Burton.
Sweetman believed that Carrey had used his status to get Percocet, Ambien and Propranolol and gave them to White, who suffered with depression.
Sweetman also said he passed on STDs to Cathriona but pressured her into covering it up.

But the actor’s legal team proved that Cathriona had forged medical records that showed that she had no STDs before she met Carrey.
The actor’s spokesperson says the case has been thrown out and, according to The Hollywood Report, added that Carrey was “looking forward to moving on with his life”.
White's ex-husband Mark Burton also brought a case against Carrey, suing “on the ground of wrongful death and violation of the drug dealer liability act”.
The suit claimed that Carrey illegally got the prescription drugs Cathriona took to take her life, under a pseudonym, Arthur King.
It also said he gave her the pills “despite the fact that he knew full well that Ms White was ill-equipped to ingest and manage highly addictive prescription drugs outside the care of a licensed physician; was prone to depression; and had previously attempted to take her own life”.
Carrey, who had also filed a counter-suit, had defended himself and said he “will not tolerate this heartless attempt to exploit me or the woman I loved”.
The case has now been thrown out.

Sweetman and Burton’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, stated: “We have no further comment at this time.”
