Following the release of his new album Love Magic, John Grant has announced a headline tour featuring two dates across Ireland.
After abandoning music for five years following the demise of his first band The Czars, John Grant went solo to critical acclaim and chart success.
Last Autumn he recorded the “Kindling” duet with Elbow then went on to tour with them this Spring, while his past collaborations have included Kylie Minogue and Alison Goldfrapp.
Now his fourth studio album Love Is Magic is set to be his most electronic record yet which is produced by Grant together with Benge and Paul Alexander, and engineered by Benge at his Cornish studio.
The concept of love, in all its variations and forms, inspired the tracks on the album. Speaking of the writing process Grant explains "Love’s a shitshow that requires work, it’s not all lollipops and rainbows and ’67 Dodge Dart Hemis and STDs and macaroni and cheese and John Carpenter. But nothing can distract from the fact that, in spite of it all, love is still magic.”
In support of the album, Grant has announced a headline show, which will include two Irish dates:
