John Prine is currently hospitalised in critical condition with the novel coronavirus.
John Prine has been diagnosed with Covid-19 and is currently in hospital in a critical condition, according to a statement from his family.
The famed bluegrass and country singer-songwriter's family wrote on Twitter, "After a sudden onset of COVID-19 symptoms, John was hospitalized on Thursday. He was intubated Saturday evening, and continues to receive care, but his situation is critical.
“This is hard news for us to share. But so many of you have loved and supported John over the years, we wanted to let you know, and give you the chance to send out more of that love and support now. And know that we love you, and John loves you.”
Prine's wife Fiona revealed on March 20 that she had tested positive for the virus. However, no update has been given on her health status.
