Lappin’s new read ‘In A Lifetime - From Hozier To U2’ traces out the lifetime of one of Ireland’s most experienced musical veterans.
Johnny Lappin has had quite a career in the music industry, from spending his early days as a live music promoter to negotiating major International publishing deals for Ireland’s latest musical export, Hozier. The book chronicles Lappin’s journey throughout the course of his career as he became a leading light in Irish music publishing, a valued IMRO member, a brilliant lecturer and a tireless campaigner for the rights of Irish musicians.
Through his quick wit and characteristic candour, Johnny Lappin delineates his turbulent career that has seen him cross paths with the cream of the musical crop, including U2, Van Morrison, Elton John and Bob Geldof, among other notable names.
Having spent a large portion of his life watching the Irish music scene prosper from a front row seat, Lappin is more than equipped to illustrate what it’s like in the frenetic world of music, warts and all.
