The publication marks the former Ireland and Leinster out-half’s second book, after 2013's Becoming a Lion
Half a year after having retired from rugby following last year’s World Cup in France, Johnny Sexton announces his next move: the release of his second book, Obsessed, later this year.
After a remarkable career in rugby, which included 119 test caps, four Six Nation titles and four Champions Cup titles with Leinster, Sexton chose to retire in early November last year to spend some more time with his wife and children. Today, he published an Instagram post revealing his second book.

“I tried to make this an honest account of my career,” Sexton said on Instagram. “So I hope you will enjoy reading it.”
The 2013 Becoming a Lion, which marked Sexton’s debut as an author, was a first-hand account into the rugby life, intimately portraying the life of one of the professional game’s highest positions, at Leinster, with Ireland, and on tour with the Lions. Obsessed is set to provide an insight into Sexton’s later career, as well as his personal life.
Although the autobiography won’t be available until October 2024, it is available for pre-orders now in most book shops.
