Like a fine wine, Dame Judi Dench proves she only gets better with age.
For her 81st birthday Dench and her daughter Finty Williams skipped afternoon tea in exchange for the tattoo parlour.
On the inside of her wrist in small block capitals is now imprinted Carpe Diem which means 'seize the day' in Latin. Speaking to Surrey Life Magazine, Dench explained why she got this particular phrase tattooed; "That's my motto: 'Seize the day.' Finty gave it to me for my 81st birthday - she's wonderful with surprises!"
As if we couldn't love Judi Dench anymore! She's got her first tattoo! I regret mine. Who else does? @VirginRadioUK pic.twitter.com/Lo3cKLBeoB

Proving you're never too old to get a tattoo, Dame Judi Dench is someone we admittedly underestimated. Bow down to Dame Judi.
You can see her on the big screen again when she stars in Tim Burton's latest work Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children which is due for release on September 30.
