Just Dance 2016
As axe lords pose over Guitar Hero Live, and dancing queens shake their bums in the living room to Just Dance 2016, gamers the world over are partying like it’s 2009.
This disco simulator sports a rich pageant: 43 tracks, ranging from the poptastic (One Direction, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga), to the funky (Bruno Mars), the retro (‘You’re the One That I Want’, from Grease), and the kid-friendly (‘Under The Sea’ from Disney’s The Little Mermaid). Players pick a track, then move in time to an onscreen avatar.
The Kinect motion sensor captures your awkward fumbles and can record them for online shaming. People without a Kinect, or with a degree of modesty, can use a smartphone as the motion device. Download the app for Android or iOS and the phone syncs with the console over WiFi, allowing you to navigate menus and dance until dawn. Just Dance 2016 has plenty of co-op modes and the ability to download additional tracks for a fee.
