The festival will see a range of interviews and workshops with both Irish and international writers
Wexford’s Write by the Sea literary festival will return from the 27th to the 29th of September this year, announcing their biggest programme yet.
Taking place in Kilmore Quay, the weekend consists of readings, interviews, and workshops with a range of authors. Festival chairperson Sasha Wilson said the organisers are “incredibly proud of the 2024 programme.”
“Not only are we hosting an incredible roster of unbelievably talented Irish writers, but we’re also welcoming to Kilmore Quay critically acclaimed and celebrated writers from North America, Africa, the UK and Europe,” she said.
The festival will open with a ceremony led by poet Patrick Cotter, where the winners of the 2024 Writing Competition will be announced, and present their work to the audience.
The range of events across the weekend will see a number of interviews and discussions, on a mixture of topics and genres.
Acclaimed author Tessa Hadley and award-winning writer and editor Lucy Caldwell will be in conversation with one another, discussing the human condition, and their trade.

Playwright and Booker-longlisted author Kevin Barry will also be present, engaging with musician and author Peter Murphy on his latest novel, The Heart in Winter.
While the emphasis is on discussions with authors, local history will also be platformed at the festival.
Artist and folklorist Michael Fortune will be joined by storyteller Fidelis Power for a discussion on where fact and fiction meet in some of the region’s folklore.
Workshops will also run over the weekend, on a range of topics from poetry to life writing, from the range of guests.
