Trial of the Centurys, a new play starring Kevin McGahern, will run in late September in the Project Arts Centre as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival.
The courtroom musical starring comedy gold Kevin McGahern and Tony Cantwell follows two jovial twins Trevor and Elliot, together known as 'Trelliot' as they are summoned to court by a wily entrepreneur. There they discover the difference between 'innocent' and 'not guilty', as well as the fickleness of fame and celebrity.
The title of the piece is a clever play on the phrase 'trial of the century', usually applied to landmark court cases. However, the trial at the center of this musical is anything but serious and instead revolves around two boys with the surname 'century'.
The play is written by Giles Brody (RTÉ's ‘Irish Pictorial Weekly’) and Bobby Aherne (author of D’You Remember Yer Man?), and features original music by art-pop act No Monster Club.
Trial of the Centurys will run at 9pm every evening from September 18-22 in the Project Arts Centre 'Cube' as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival. A preview of the show will run on September 17 with an additional matinée taking place on the 22nd.
