Belfast-based French-born musician Célia Tiab shared her debut EP Cécé on Soft Boy Records just last week.
The captivating artist dropped 'BIBIBI' and 'Creamy' earlier this year, blending elements of soul, jazz and folk music around her affecting songwriting and ethereal voice.
Speaking on the title of the EP, Célia says : “Cécé’ is the nickname I gave myself when I was little, and this debut EP feels like the beginning of the affirmation of my style and taste, but also the maturation I reached over the years of not releasing anything.”
Célia previously featured on the 2018 Brién track ‘Can I Lie With U’, after which Célia was welcomed into the Soft Boy Records family, where she went on to work with Gaptoof on ‘Forget U’ and Kojaque on his critically acclaimed 2021 debut album Town’s Dead, alongside the likes of Biig Piig and Maverick Sabre.
Kean Kavanagh returned in March with soulful new single ‘Heart Attacks’, accompanied by a video filmed in London directed by Kojaque.
Following on from his debut project Dog Person with the hazy, dream-like summer groover ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Heart Attacks’ offered a new personal perspective, fresh from the ever-churning mind of Kavanagh.
