Kylie Minogue slams ageism and claims "people are over it".
After the major success of her recent pop anthem 'Padam Padam' Kylie Minogue has declared that labels are not "cool". The Australian Pop-Queen has spoken her mind on the fact that she is relieved that she has not been subject to ageism as she has gotten further into her 35 year long career.
After she received backlash regarding her Grammy Awards look, Minogue told the Radio Times she "caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny" but feels lucky enough that she has not had to deal with such things much in her career.
"I think we’re in a time where it’s not cool to be ageist. People are over it."
She explains that she is pleased to see that people are ditching labels and enjoying the important things, the music.
"What’s really interesting is that it’s the younger people saying, ‘We love the song.’ The current thinking, which is amazing and a breath of fresh air, is that labels are dropping."

It is refreshing to see such a big star embrace getting older as she continues to release iconic chart-toppers. After her single 'Padam Padam' gained so much traction in the US, Minogue has had no choice but to embrace its success.
"I’m trying to keep up. It’s very exciting. I would say, ‘Who would have thought?’ but I don’t think that’s the best attitude. It’s more, ‘Here we are and why not?’ Give it a go."
Fans can look forward to Kylie Minogue's new album Tension being released on September 22.
