Tickets to see Lankum for €32 (including booking fee) go on sale Friday 23rd September at 10am.
Following a near three-year hiatus, Lankum have announced a long overdue return to Vicar Street, playing their only concerts of the year on December 10th and 11th.
The Dublin four-piece (brothers Ian and Daragh Lynch, Cormac MacDiarmada and Radie Peat) haven't played live since their critically acclaimed The Livelong Day won the Choice Award Album of the Year in 2020. Their visionary A National Disgrace livestream from the Abbey Theatre that same year was a powerful reminder of the band's spellbinding stagecraft.
Lankum shared a video in September 2020 for 'The Pride Of Petravore' – shot at their Vicar Street gig back in January that year.
The video, directed and animated by visual artist and singer Marry Waterson – the daughter of iconic English folksinger Lal Waterson – features a guest appearance from Spider Stacy of The Pogues. Rachel Hynes, Alex Borwick, John Dermody and Adrian Crowley along appear alongside the band.
"Few contemporary artists epitomise the integrity and authenticity at the heart of great folk music quite like Lankum," Hot Press' Lucy O'Toole wrote of their third album in November 2019. "True to the title of their previous LP, the Dublin four-piece’s sound exists somewhere Between The Earth And The Sky – embracing both earthy, human grit and intangible, otherworldly textures."

"With their new record, The Livelong Day, the group have re-emerged with a deepened sense of maturity and mortality, culminating in a project of uniquely raw intensity – and undoubtedly one of the finest releases of the year."
Tickets €32 (including booking fee) on sale Friday, 23rd September at 10am.
