Dell On Earth
Few tablets rough it quite like Dell’s new bruiser. The Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet is built to withstand the harshest of elements, just in case you fancy browsing the web while hiking through the Himalayas or working in a war zone.
The tablet comes with a 11.6” HD display, designed for reading outdoors, and a touchscreen that works when you wear mittens. There’s 512GB storage and 802.11ac Wi-Fi (not that Wi-Fi is prevalent in the Antarctic), optional mobile broadband and dedicated GPS.
This tough nut, which comes equipped with a backlit keyboard cover and two swappable batteries that last up to 12 hours, purports to work in the harshest of conditions. It survives water spills, sand and dust, drops from over four feet and extreme temperatures.
Dell Rugged devices are used by military, emergency response units, scientists and adventurers. The Latitude 12 might even survive an Irish summer.
