The tweet follows an active crowd-funding campaign to gather funds for posters, which has raised €360,000+ in just over a day, providing roughly 36,000 posters.

The Together For Yes platform group includes the Abortion Rights Campaign, Artists' Campaign to Repeal the Eighth Amendment, Doctors Together for Yes, Irish Family Planning Association, Lawyers for Choice, Rape Crisis Network Ireland and the Union of Students of Ireland, among many others.
The crowd-funding arose from concern that the posters opposing the removal of the Eighth Amendment had been both more numerous and prominent.
Varadkar's stance on the Eighth Amendment has evolved over time. In 2014, he told the Dáil, "I consider myself to be pro-life in that I accept that the unborn child is a human life with rights." However, he has since indicated that he would approve the repeal of the Eighth Amendment, which as a doctor he deemed "too restrictive". He also told the Dáil, “The Irish people will ultimately make this decision, and I absolutely trust the Irish people to make the right decision based on compassion, based on empathy, while not disrespecting human life.”
