The New Orleans-inspired band are gearing up to headline the Main Stage at Carnival Spirit.
Get ready for a night of Mardi Gras magic – with musical voodoo supplied by some of Ireland's most exciting acts. Hot Press and the good folk from Southern Comfort are teaming up to offer a real taste of the Big Easy in D2, with Carnival Spirit at Lost Lane, Dublin on Tuesday, February 25. Embracing our New Orleans theme, we've enlisted Booka Brass to headline the celebrations on the night – where they'll be joined by a surprise guest!
Since forming in 2012, Booka Brass have become firm favourites on the Irish live music circuit. With a famously soulful energy, they've entertained music lovers at the biggest festivals and venues across the country.
"Fusing their brass sounds with funk guitars and hip hop/samba beats, their music sounded at times like everything from an old film noir soundtrack to an infectiously cheesy 70s soul pastiche, as well as like acts Daft Punk, Gorillaz and Santana," said Hot Press's Stephen Porzio in his review of Booka Brass's set at All Together Now 2018. "Booka Brass reaffirmed their status as one of Ireland's best live acts with a set full of energy and soul."
And that's not all! Carnival Spirit's Main Stage will also play host to acclaimed alternative hip-hop duo Tebi Rex, and DJ Marcus O'Laoire on the night.
In The Singer's House, meanwhile, you'll find the spellbinding Dr. Michael Mac Jr. on keys, Broken String Jones on guitar and Jess Kavanagh on vocals.
2FM DJ Tara Stewart will also be on hand in the Carousel Bar, alongside top Irish magician Jamie Skelton and juggler Professor Johnny Fling.
