Brady was a hugely successful player both in the UK with Arsenal, where he won an FA Cup in 1979, and in Italy with Juventus, winning two Series A titles. In addition to this, Brady was capped 72 times for the Ireland national team which is what many Irish fans will fondly remember the football icon for.
Liam Brady was a talented attacking midfielder renowned for his left foot and elegant technical skills such as his high-quality passing, vision and close control, which made him an excellent playmaker.
These technical insights made him a fantastic broadcaster and commentator, first for the BBC from 1990-1998, followed by RTÉ where he graced television screens across the country for 25 years until he stepped down as a football pundit earlier this year. Born to Be a Footballer is Brady's first book, and you can catch up on all the post book analysis in the 2023 Hot Press Annual.
