Liam Gallagher joins the chorus of Swift supporters, after Blur frontman Damon Albarn claimed she didn't write her own songs.
Liam Gallagher has come to Taylor Swift's defence, labelling her "fucking cool," after Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn falsely claimed she didn't write her own songs.
Albarn came under fire last month after saying that the singer's "co-writing" style clashed with his "traditionalist" approach, in an interview to promote his new album The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows.
Swift tweeted in response: "@DamonAlbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really fucked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW."
Gallagher is just the newest musician to lend their support, joining the Folklore singer's longtime collaborators Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff.
"All them fucking Gorilla albums are co-writes aren’t they? I get it – Noel bangs on about it as well: ‘I’m more important than you because I write my fucking songs'," said Gallagher to NME.

In addition to her celebrity endorsements, Swift's fanbase — which is notoriously protective of the singer — took to social media to condemn the Blur lyricist.
"Well, [Albarn] won’t be saying that again in a hurry, though, will he?" said the As You Were musician. "Did he not get ran out of fucking town by the Swifters? I think [Taylor’s] fucking cool, man. She does write her songs and I’m sure she’s co-wrote with people.”
The former Oasis frontman's own upcoming album, C'MON YOU KNOW, includes collaborators Dave Grohl, Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig and longtime producer Greg Kurstin.
Gallagher will be coming to Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Saturday, August 27 — and Hot Press is giving away two tickets. Read some more about the competition, here.
