The event runs from 11-20th of June and takes visitors on a tour of locations in Dublin and Cork.
The line-up of musicians, voice artists and writers for ‘A City and a Garden' was announced today.
Tolü Makay, Dorothy Murphy, Hilary Rose, Conor Lovett, Seán Mac Erlaine, Fish Go Deep and The Quiet Club were announced as the voice artists and musicians for the event. The writers were also announced, with Lisa McInerney, Louise Hegarty, Melatu Uche Okorie and Gavin Corbett set to join.
Commissioned by Sounds from a Safe Harbour, the even will run in association with Body&Soul. It is a new, “sonic experience that combines story and song with the world around us.”
Visitors will use their smartphones to unearth songs and stories embedded in the surrounding areas. The event is available in the national Botanic Gardens in Dublin, as well as Cork’s city centre.
The stories will be voiced by Hilary Rose, Conor Lovett, Dorothy Murphy and Tolü Makay. Seán Mac Earlaine, Fish Go Deep and the Quiet Club will provide music for the experience, with Dorothy Murphy and Tolü Makay also contributing to the soundscapes for the project.

The visual installations for the event are provided by Deirdre Breen with WP Cork Developers providing the technology to guide event goers through the tours. The writers for the event were selected by Danny Denton, editor of the Irish literary magazine, The Stinging Fly.
The event is free to attend and is part of the Brightening Air / Coiscéím Coiligh and Cork Midsummer festival which runs from June 11th - 20th.
