'Backstage at Mike The Pies' is produced and presented by Megan O’Donoghue, and features some of the brilliant artists who have played socially-distanced shows at Mike The Pies during lockdown.
Hot Press' hugely successful podcast, 'Backstage At Mike the Pies', continues – with internationally acclaimed Dublin singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson featuring on Episode 7.
Irish musician and producer David Kitt is renowned for crossing multiple genres. He has released eight albums of songs under his own name and also makes music as New Jackson, Garies (with Lumigraph), The Lock-In (with Tim Wheeler and Conor Creaney); and has recently started ‘Awayday’ a label for his more experimental material. In this episode, Megan chats with David about his love of Kerry, his start in music, his retrospective of songs from his back catalogue and much more.
Since the beginning of lockdown, Mike The Pies has hosted a series of special gigs, run with the support of the Department of Tourism, Culture, the Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, as part of the Live Performance Support scheme. As part of the Backstage at Mike The Pies podcast series, host Megan O'Donoghue chats to some of the exciting up-and-coming artists who have graced the stage of the legendary Listowel venue, which has built up a reputation as one of Ireland's most beloved music halls.
