Floor Staff will release his debut album ‘Attention’ next Friday, August 27th.
Floor Staff has dropped his brand new single ‘The Occupants Rotate’ ahead of the release of his debut album, Attention.
‘The Occupants Rotate’ is a beautifully heartfelt exploration about having faith in someone. The song features crisp emotional vocals from Floor Staff, AKA Anthony Donnelly. The track swells with simple instrumentation mixed with Donnelly’s penchant for writing sparkling pop music.
It’s been a prolific summer for Donnelly, who released ‘Aspiration’ in June and ‘Empathize’ back in in July. Previous single 'Aspiration' marked the songwriter's return after a 4-year hiatus.
Both are taken from his forthcoming album which will be released next Friday, August 27. The eagerly-awaited body of work “reflects on the turmoil of loss and regret but sets it against a broad horizon of possibility,” as stated in a press release.
All songs on Attention were written by the alternative pop-artist, who also co-produced the album along with Christopher Barry. Barry also recorded and mixed the album at Ailfionn Recording Studio in Dublin, while John Webber mastered the project at AIR Studios in London.
“This album is certainly more direct than the other releases and it does feel very strange to speak more directly but it’s also pretty liberating,” said the singer.

“Maybe I’m settling into myself a little more, so I’m a bit more concerned with going with whatever comes out and accepting it as it is without considering how it could be perceived,” he added.
The album will be self-released and follows up his 2017 EP, Convictions. Donnelly’s sophomore effort was a vulnerable and unique approach to pop music and featured the singles ‘A Love Sublime’ and ‘Saviour.’ His first EP, The Good Luck EP, dropped in 2016.
