The cover is from the 10th anniversary reissue of Van Etten's 2010 album 'Epic'.
Sharon Van Etten has dropped another cut from epic Ten, the tenth anniversary reissue of her 2010 record Epic. The double album will include both the original LP and an album of cover versions, delivered by artists ranging from Fiona Apple to Courtney Barnett and Vagabon.
Last month, Van Etten shared Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner's cover of 'A Crime.' This new cover is from the inimitable Lucinda Williams, who sings 'Save Yourself'. “I am in tears listening to Lucinda Williams’ interpretation of ‘Save Yourself,’ owning my words, watching her perform, giving it her heart,” Van Etten wrote in an Instagram post.
In another photo posted to Instagram yesterday, the singer spoke about the first time she met Lucinda Williams. "I shyly came back stage after being invited and she walked up to me with a glass of wine in her hand singing 'Every time the sun comes up I'm in trouble...'. I wanted to cry."
