The new edition of the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions' Y&E Series continues tonight – supported by the Department of Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht.
Dublin-based composer and singer-songwriter Ailsha draws influence from traditional Irish, romantic classical, electronic and heavy metal music to forge her own unique cinematic sound.
Ailsha set up an ambient background view for her set, with fairy lights and a red theme overall creating the cosy feel of an intimate live set.
Creating a relatable setlist of tracks with themes ranging from trying to forge romantic connections during lockdown, getting ghosted on the tiresome dating apps and heavy break-ups, Ailsha's lyrics will no doubt gain fans for her playful tone yet vulnerable self-reflection.
Performing her most recent single 'Ghosted', featuring the noteworthy line "RIP to your softboi fantasy", Ailsha also sang her SoundCloud tracks 'Quarantine', the anxiety-tinged 'Phobia' and the heartbreak song 'Damaged' for her livestream audience.
It was truly the perfect live gig for anyone who wants to throw Tinder into the firepit during lockdown.
