In one of the live-streamed performances of the Dublin Quays Festival, Keeley rocked The Workman's Club last night.
While we still wait for the full return of live music, the good people behind the Dublin Quays Festival have returned this year with an excellent programme of live-streamed bands from different venues around Dublin.
Last night, the Fair City's own Keeley rocked The Workman's Club stage, playing tunes from their recent EPs and select cuts from their upcoming album.
Opening with atmospheric guitars and a rhythmic bassline, the band (which started as a solo act for the former member of the Session Motts Keeley Moss) offers up their usual eclectic mix of psychedelic desert rock and 90s grunge.
She plays her role as the frontwoman really well, offering up quips and down-to-earth stage banter in good form, which isn't easy to do in a live-streamed gig.
In one of the highlights of the set, 'Brave Warrior' ups the tempo with a Dave Grohl-esque riff that plugs away under lyrics about poverty, with a chorus of "Wonder Where I’ll stay tonight?”
Although most songs continue in the earlier vain of mellow trance rock, they close the show with a wall of guitar feedback, showing off their alt-rock influences.

Keeley finds time at the end to plug their gig at Whelan's, which is just a few months away. And their great performance here makes it one show not to be missed.
Tickets for Keeley at Whelan's Live on October 13 are on sale here.
