On 3 different pianos and a guitar, Nathan Mac delivered an energetic set on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions' Y&E Series this past weekend.

A compelling new presence on the homegrown indie-pop scene, former circus performer Mac has launched his career with the first two instalments of his Start Of Something Blue project – which is set to feature over 24 collaborators, including musicians, photographers, illustrators, directors, performers and more.

Opening with his debut single 'Better Off Without You,' the singer-songwriter showed off his improving piano skills. Mac moved into another room to play 'Domestic Wars' – this time on the guitar – before sitting back down to play a song about an Irish myth, called 'Deirdre of The Sorrows', which he dedicated the Michael D. Higgins.

He's joined on the Y&E Series by acclaimed artist Gareth Quinn Redmond – an ambient composer who has collaborated extensively with David Keenan.

Friday, September 18:  BRENDAN MURRAY
Hailed by Robbie Williams as an artist with “an impossibly perfect pop voice”, Irish singer-songwriter and former Hometown member Brendan Murray's career highlights already include reaching the semi-final of The X Factor in 2018 and representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017. His performance on the Y&E Series coincides with the release of his new single '500 Days'.
