A brand new mural has popped up on the corner of Chatham Row and South William Street overnight, depicting groundbreaking star Lizzo. While the artwork has yet to be fully completed, it's already found plenty of fans on Twitter – and has now come to the attention of Lizzo herself.

Street artist and graphic designer Emma Blake is the creative mind behind the piece. She's also responsible for the recently unveiled mural of Derry Girls' Sister Michael at The Bernard Shaw – depicting Siobhán McSweeney's iconic character unimpressed with yet another cultural space closing down to make room for hotels.

Lizzo's mural arrives just days before the American artist lands in Dublin for her sold-out gig at The Olympia Theatre on Sunday, November 10. The release of Lizzo's third studio album, Cuz I Love You, earlier this year saw her career skyrocket – and was described by Brooke Weber in Hot Press as "a playful, confident, radical endorsement of self-love and emotional vulnerability."
