Acclaimed Irish singer-songwriters Cat Dowling and Lorraine Nash are slated to perform at Triskel's Behind Closed Doors Concert series, with tickets now on sale for just €10 per household.

Dowling will be joined by composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Horan - whose career in music spans twenty years - and Cork-based violinist and viola player Marje Gaynor, who specialises in Baroque music and plays with various Irish and European ensembles.

Equally at home in the Irish Trad scene, Nash’s original material brings an eclectic mix of musical styles to the table while ensuring that her own unique voice comes through unmistakably.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Cat Dowling and Lorraine Nash to Triskel,” commented Tony Sheehan, Triskel’s Artistic Director.

“Cat is a well established performer whose voice has been lauded as one of the most wonderful and evocative in Irish contemporary music, while newcomer Lorraine has quickly become one of the most played female artists on Irish radio. These concerts will be very special.”

Triskel Arts Centre is a vibrant cultural HUB in the heart of Cork City, and has been in operation for 42 years. This state of the art venue - launched in 2011 - is programmed with a rich bill of live music with a focus on classical and jazz gigs, cultural cinema and literary events.

Triskel also runs a second contemporary art room, Triskel Gallery Space. Theatre Development Centre is the only full time operation dedicated to the development of theatre - managed by Corcadorca Theatre Company. Cork Traveller Women’s Network relocated their Headquarters to Triskel in 2018 while yoga and dance studio The Collective Cork took up residence in May 2019.

The voice of Cat Dowling has always been lauded as one of the most evocative in Irish contemporary music. Her dark pop songs paired with husky and achingly intimate vocals grip any audience from the outset. Dowling has fronted numerous music projects, the last of which was the electro/dream-pop indie band, Alphastates. In 2013, her debut solo album The Believer was released to critical acclaim, with opening track 'The Believer' featuring on numerous television shows. Her latest album is both simultaneously stark and lush with an innate authenticity and rawness at its heart. The project's first single 'Trouble' is out now, with its accompanying forest-set video premiering on Hot Press.

The independent release of Lorraine Nash's debut EP Wildflower in 2020 saw the newcomer and multi-instrumentalist quickly rise to become one of the most played female artists on Irish radio. A spellbinding, livestream set at Cork Opera House in December 2020 by the Kerry singer songwriter led to her signing with FIFA Records. Performing since she was 7 years old, Lorraine is a talented pianist, guitar, harp, flute and violin player, skills that she has brought to the recording studio to create her debut EP.
Lorraine is currently releasing new material from her forthcoming debut LP due out later this year, sharing new single 'Sing With Her' last week via Hot Press.
