Producers of the popular summer series have hinted at a Christmas special. 2018 winners Jack and Dani have already been contacted about joining the reunion.
Love Island fans everywhere will be thrilled. Following talks, it is rumoured that ITV2 are bringing the summer series into the festive season. Considering the show's massive following across the UK and Ireland, it's a clever move. In Ireland alone over 105,100 people watched the first episode on 3e this year.
According to the Sun an ITV source said, "bosses have been wanting to get the cast back together for a few years now but have finally been given the green light because of the success of this year's show."
Seeing as many of the couples have already broken up, it will more than likely be an entertaining show. Only four out of nine couples are still together. "They know exactly the kind of drama that viewers want to see and getting together the couples who have split will certainly make for tense viewing."
"Producers are in the process of getting people to sign up and they are hoping that everybody agrees to it." It's unclear whether the Christmas special will focus on the 2018 Islanders or will branch out to other seasons.

Some successful couples from over the years may be worthy features on the special, such as 2016 winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey who have since leaving the show have welcomed their baby Freddie-George into the world in January 2018. Newly weds Olivia and Alex Bowen met on Love Island and have shared a fairytale love story every since.
Kem Cetinay might pop up in the Christmas special following his successful accompanying podcast, The Morning. Cetinay won Love Island in 2017 alongside then girlfriend Amber Davies. Producers have already reached out the the 2018 winners, Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer. The couple would be an essential part of this all new Christmas special.
Fans hope host Caroline Flack will join the Islanders in the new special. Love Island would be incomplete with Ian Stirling's hilarious commentary.
