It's Alexandre Desplat.
Alexandre Desplat was set to compose Rogue One: A Star Wars Tale, but ultimately left the project. While this may not be the actual reason, he may have left so he could compose for Luc Besson’s upcoming Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The French film composer has been nominated for multiple awards for his work on popular films, even winning an Oscar for his work on the Wes Anderson film Grand Budapest Hotel.
This is great news for the film, which looks to be rather risky for a major western film. Valerian is based on the French comic book series, Valerian and Laurenline, a space opera known for its influence on the visual look of Star Wars. Valerian will mark Luc Besson’s return to the genre, the first such film since the cult classic The Fifth Element. The film is expected to release on 21 July, 2017.
