Maggie Rogers’ second album Surrender will arrive on July 29th.
Today, Maggie Rogers has shared 'That’s Where I Am', the lead single from her upcoming album Surrender.
In the song, Rogers sings of a relationship that started off as a simple friendship but has slowly grown to be much more. She declares her heart's devotion to this new love in the track's chorus: It all works out in the end / Wherever you go / That’s where I am / Boulders turn into sand / Wherever you go / That’s where I am.
The song’s lush sonic landscape is familiar to that of Rogers' previous works. It’s full of deep synths, layered harmonies, earthy tones, and clap rhythms.
The track comes after the Maryland native shared details about Surrender last month. The new LP follows her 2019 debut album Heard In a Past Life. The acclaimed debut reached No.2 on the Billboard 200 chart and earned Rogers a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.

The new 12-track project was produced by previous collaborator Kid Harpoon, as well as Rogers herself. It was written during pandemic lockdowns and recorded in a number of locations including Electric Lady Studios in New York City, Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios near Bath, and her parents’ garage.
A recent statement describing the new album says that it “fully captures the frenetic intensity of the last two years of her life, bringing her bracing honesty to stories of anger and peace and self-salvation, transcendence through sex and freedom through letting go.
Surrender is out on July 29th via Capitol Records. Pre-order the album here.
