After an attack in a hostel in Dublin in the early hours of the morning, a 24-year-old man has died.
A murder investigation is now underway following the attack at Harrington House on the city centre’s southside.
An arrest has been made and a 41-year-old is now being questioned at a Dublin garda station.
Gardaí have reported how news initially reached them at 4.45am of a man with serious injuries at the hostel on Harrington Street.
The 24-year-old, who is believed to be from Clondalkin, died from his injuries at St James's Hospital.
It appears the victim may have been stabbed after an argument with another resident at the hostel.

The scene at Harrington Street has been preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place later today.
