The house is perfect for musicians looking for the space to practise and record.
Martin Furey, a former member of The High Kings, is on the lookout for musicians to rent rooms in his cottage, Sheloga – located 3km outside of Kilkenny City.
A former farmhouse, byre and barn, the cottage has two rooms for rent – and is perfect for any creative or musician who needs extensive space to practise and record. The house has already been used as a studio for a few albums over the years.
If you're a loud, unruly maker of music – who doesn't want to be stuck in a small city apartment – then this is the home for you. And for those particularly loud rehearsals, the large shed on the property is ideal.
The first room for rent at Sheloga is the large master bedroom. Located over what would have been the byre, the master bedroom has an attic style ceiling, as well as its own en-suite toilet and shower.
The shared kitchen and living room are in one large room with a high ceiling, the old barn, with heat from the walk-in fireplace. This amply heats the single room above – which is the second room for rent. The second room also includes another room – the old byre, which can serve as a private sitting room or lounge for the second tenant.
Tenants will have full use of the garden, and will have a washing machine in the house.
The tenants will both need to be able to pay €600, plus bills. The rent will drop to €500 plus bills next summer, when a third tenant will be moving into the adjoining third bedroom.
