Agatha Christie's famous crime novel gets adapted yet again.
While not quite as ubiquitous as Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot novels remain staples of the crime fiction genre. Murder on the Orient Express remains one of her most famous novels, where Hercule attempts to solve a murder mystery on a train caught in a snowdrift. Inevitably, Branagh’s adaptation will be compared to the 1974 film, which featured classic film actors such as Ralph Finney, Lauren Bacall, and Ingrid Bergman.
Angelina Jolie was set to star in the film, but has since exited the production. However, Branagh has lined up some major talent with Leslie Odom Jr., Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley, Judi Dench, Michelle Pfieffer, Michael Peña, Derek Jacobi, Tom Bateman, and Lucy Boynton.
