"You don't deserve any of this Megan. You deserve to be heard, to be believed, and most importantly, to be safe," the letter read.
Megan Thee Stallion has received a letter of support from the Southern Black Girls & Women's Consortium in the wake of Drake's album which contains a lyric about her alleged abuse.
In a new song by Drake and 21 Savage, Drake raps, "This bitch lie 'bout gettin shots but she still a stallion," which presumably refers to the incident where Tory Lanez allegedly shot at Megan in 2020. Tory denied all charges, and even rapped in a song "Megan tryna frame me for a shooting." Many people on the internet turned against Megan, making memes and accusing her of lying. "In some kind of way, I became the villain," she said.
Now, after Drake's verse in reference to the shooting, Megan spoke up on Twitter. "Stop using my shooting for clout... since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot!" the 'Savage' rapper wrote. "Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she says one of y'all homeboys abused her," she continued, referring to the rappers who boycotted Adidas due to Ye's antisemitism but still attack her.

To show their support for Megan, the Consortium shared a letter with over two dozen signatures- including #MeToo founder Tarana Burke, Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson, and musician Ethel Cain.

The letter praised Megan as "larger than life" and "an inspiration" to "women all over the world". It continued, "It must be said our culture had failed you. In July 2020, you experienced a violation of the highest order at the hands of someone whom you considered a friend. Since then, you've had to endure public harassment and taunting not only from that person but from others choosing to stand with him.
"You've been consistently clear about what happened to you, but instead of being met with widespread support, people who should have had your back have chosen to stay out of the matter.
"You don't deserve any of this Megan. You deserve to be heard, to be believed, and most importantly, to be safe."
Tory Lanez has been on house arrest since last week as his trial date approaches.
