Comedian Michael Fry goes viral with indie song mocking the now-infamous RTÉ hearings.
Dublin comedian Michael Fry has dropped a contender for Song of the Year yesterday, giving a tongue-in-cheek rundown of the RTÉ hearings taken place over the last three weeks.
Clocking in at just under two and a half minutes, the song acts as a highlight reel of notable moments, most of which trended on social media as they happened, including Chief Financial Officer Richard Collins claiming not to know his own salary. Also, a nod to Renault, of course.
"I don't know my salary off he top of my head / I think it's about €200,000 plus a car allowance / Who are you loyal to? Who are you lying to? Oh," he sings. "Yes my salary's enormous but it doesn't affect my soul / €2.7 million euro on a musical, €5,000 on flip-flops / Daddy tell me, why is the toy man on the news?"

The video uploaded to his Twitter page intersperses footage of him playing various instruments with clips from the trial.
Fry is known for turning Irish scandals into indie songs, a phenomenon that has seen him enough success to launch a standup comedy career and potentially even pen a musical of his own.
Many fans and friends of Fry reached out asking for a musical take on the RTÉ scandal, and the talent delivered.
