The left wing activist and film director makes the case for Hillary.
Following the news of the Brexit vote, Michael Moore was shocked into moving the production of his newest documentary, Michael Moore in Trumpland, forward. His latest film, despite its name, is less anti-Trump than it is more pro-Hillary.
Moore is no Hillary Clinton fan: he vowed never to vote for the Democratic politician when she voted to send American troops into Iraq. He has since rescinded that vow in the wake of the rise of Donald Trump, who he perceives as a threat to democracy.
At 73 minutes, the film is a one-man call to arms, encouraging people to get out on polling day – and vote for Hillary.
Moore has carried his message to American states with a history of voting Republican, engaging in a campaign of persuasion with undecided voters, third-party voters, and even Trump supporters.

His idea for the documentary was spurred by the widespread lack of enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton. You might say that it's a bit of an odd move, since Moore doesn't seem that enthusiastic himself, at the prospect of voting for Clinton. Clearly, however, he has decided that there are deeper issues at stake here – and that Donald Trump represents a real threat to the ideal of democracy. Instead of his usual incendiary style – pioneered in Bowling for Columbine and Farenheit 9/11 – Moore shows more restraint, perhaps as a consequence of aiming to get a positive message across, for a change.
The new documentary has been released without any hype beforehand. Donald Trump, meanwhile, continues to struggle in the polls.
