The €410 million the Department of Social Protection secured in February will be used to pay the money to those eligible in the coming months.
This month, over 1.3 million people will get a €200 payment as the cost of living continues to affect people across the country. The payment is included in the government's €410 million package.
Pensioners, carers, people with disabilities, and lone parents are entitled to the money. The once-off payment thus comes to a total cost of €261 million.
The Department of Social Protection has confirmed that the support will be paid on the week starting Monday, April 24.
Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys said that people "right across this country" are affected by the "difficult period" of the rising cost of living.
As a result the "€200 lump sum payment is the first [] measures and will be followed in June by an extra €100 per child for people receiving Child Benefit.“

"Parents who receive the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance will also get an additional €100 for each child this summer," Minister Humphreys said.
According to Ms Humphreys, the package underlines the government's "continued commitment" to address the increased cost of living. It is considered an addition to the €2.2 million secured in Budget 2023.
"These measures are another demonstration of the Government’s commitment to assisting with the increase in the cost of living," she said.
"This shows that, even a few months after introducing the largest Social Protection Budget in the State’s history, we will continue to respond in order to protect those most in need."
The €200 will be received on the same day the eligible would usually receive their primary payment. It will also be paid to the primary recipients of the payments who received the Christmas bonus and to those who receive the Working Family Payment.
