The new Mitski and Byrne collaboration is taken from the soundtrack of the forthcoming sci-fi film Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Mitski and David Byrne have released a new collaboration track, set to appear on the Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert directed sci-fi action film Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Together the Laurel Hell singer and the Talking Heads founder created a sprawling and eerie offering that is nothing if not cinematic in scope. Listen to the track below.
'This Is A Life' is just one part of a colossal 49-piece soundtrack, curated by U.S. experimental outfit Son Lux. Other features include André 3000, Randy Newman and Moses Sumney among others.
Son Lux said of the project: “Even though we knew from the moment Daniels asked us to score this film that it would push us in new and unexpected directions, we couldn’t have predicted how much we’d learn from the project.
“What emerged was our most ambitious undertaking to date, over two years in the making, resulting in two hours of new music. It was an opportunity for us to play, to infuse humour into our work, and to experiment from and beyond our various musical backgrounds.”

The A24 film will hit cinemas on Friday, March 25.
Mitski joins the soundtrack hot off her sixth studio album release, Laurel Hell.
In a review of the LP, Hot Press' Ed Power calls the work "a rummage through the hopes, fears and insecurities of a musician on the cusp of the big time, it’s fascinating. But it isn’t exactly a blockbuster and those coming to the record expecting a towering statement of intent risk being underwhelmed. This isn’t her Out Of Time or Boxer – more her New Adventures In Hi-Fi or I Am Easy To Find."
