Morrissey Has Alarming Thoughts on Sexual Abuse Victims of Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein
The Former Smiths singer voiced his opinion on the recent rush of sexual assault allegations in Hollywood to German news outlet, Spiegel Online.
In a recent interview with Spiegel Online, Morrissey is reported to believe the victims "to some extent," but thinks that it has turned into a "play" of sorts.
The singer songwriter allegedly came to Kevin Spacey's defence and blamed the victim (who was 14 at the time) for being naive by following Spacey into the bedroom. "...When you are in somebody’s bedroom, you have to be aware of where that can lead to. That’s why it does not sound very credible to me. It seems to me Spacey has been unnecessarily attacked", Morissey said.
Regarding Harvey Weinstein, the singer claimed that his actions are just part of life in industry circles. "People know exactly what happens...They play along. Afterwards, they feel embarrassed, or do not like it...Then they turn it around and say: I was attacked, I was surprised, I was dragged into the room".
Morrissey added "almost everyone is guilty of sleeping with minors". In the music history, "many rock'n'roll musicians have slept with their groupies."
