Under A Wrist
Tick, tick, tick. Not much time has passed since Motorola’s first Android timepiece graced wrists around the world, but now an updated version is challenging Apple Watch to keep up.
Moto 360 wearers can even connect to their iPhone, via Google’s companion app.
Moto 360 2, announced at this month’s IFA in Berlin, comes in two sizes: 46mm for the average wrist, and a 42mm option for dainty users. Swipe the touch screen to access menus and apps, and use motion gestures to flip through notifications. There’s a heart sensor, so you can tell when to lay off then coffee beans. An in-built GPS ensures you will never get lost (or walk into lamp posts while searching maps on a smartphone).
Motorola are banging on about better battery life, as this wrist enhancer ticks over for two days. Analogue watch batteries last years, however, so smart watches are not exactly ahead of their time.
